eTrain: Social Media Nightmares & How to Protect Your Credit Union

Please Register Online here

If your staff uses company computers to access Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, or other social media sites, what steps should you take to protect your credit union, your employees, and, most importantly, your members from liability?

Social media sites have revolutionized our communications with each other, but they have also created HR nightmares for some companies. In spite of that, a recent survey conducted by EvalsRus.com found that 74% of financial institutions surveyed still did not have a satisfactory social media policy.

Even if you are among the top 20% that do have a social media policy, do your employees know about it? Have they been trained and tested on it? And are you sure they understand their social media responsibility to the credit union?

In this program credit union authority Rory Rowland will show you how to avoid the risk of being unprepared. You’ll learn how to:

  • Develop a social media policy – the regulators will be looking for one on their next visit
  • Create an employee agreement – what it is and how it can protect you and your employees
  • Safely and easily track employees on social media sites
  • Select those designated “social media official communicators” – ignore this idea at your own peril!
  • Protect the credit union’s reputation with a five-step social media protection plan
  • Conduct employee training for social media
  • Test the employees’ understanding of your social media policy and what to avoid

You’ll also receive a FREE social media white paper reinforcing the important steps to follow in protecting your credit union’s reputation, members, and employees.
